CARE & REPAIRS
Our jewellery is designed to be worn and loved. These simple tips will help keep your Chupi piece looking its very best.
-A gentle clean with a soft 100% cotton cloth is ideal for maintaining your jewellery's shine.
-Try to not wear your jewellery in the shower or pool as the chlorine will tarnish it.
-Apply any perfume, body lotion or creams and let dry before you put on your jewellery.
-For the best care, store your jewellery in a little airtight bag in the box it came in when not being worn to minimise tarnish.
-To clean your jewellery grab a small bowl, pour in hot water, some gentle soap and stir. Place your jewellery in the solution for 1 minute, rinse with clean water, then polish with a soft 100% cotton cloth and pat completely dry.
-Sterling silver pieces can be cleaned using any of the commercially available solutions, we prefer the non chemical ones.
-Gold fill refers to a process in which gold is mechanically bonded to a base metal, producing a thicker layer than even the heaviest gold plating. Our chain, clasps & ear hooks are all gold filled.
-Our gold plated pieces are heavily plated in 18k gold over solid sterling silver. The gold layer will eventually wear off. When it does, it can be re-plated at a nominal cost through any jewellers or we would be happy to do it for you.
-If your piece breaks or is damaged, do get in touch with us. We want you to be very happy with your Chupi piece.
Does your jewellery contain nickel? Chupi is allergic to nickel and is well aware of how awful the reaction can be. All of our pieces are free from the major reactive metals such as nickel. If you experience a reaction to any of our pieces do please get in touch as we definitely want to know.

We use only the finest precious metals and semi precious gemstones, if you look at the description of each piece you can see the materials used in the description. We use 14k solid gold, sterling silver, 18k gold plating and 14k gold fill depending on the piece, for a more in depth description of each material please see the sections below.
-14k solid gold are made from from 14k solid gold
-14k gold fill is a thick layer of 14k gold pressure-bonded to a base metal of brass
-18k gold plated silver pieces: a 3-4 micron layer of 18k gold thickly plated over solid sterling silver
-18k rose gold plated silver pieces: a 3-4 micron layer of 18k gold thickly plated over solid sterling silver
-Sterling silver pieces are made from solid sterling silver
We use 14k solid gold for our Fine Jewellery, each piece is hallmarked in the Assay Office in Dublin Castle.
14k gold fill shouldn’t be confused with gold plating as gold fill has up to 100 times more gold than plating. Gold fill is a thick layer of 14k gold pressure-bonded to a base metal of brass. It does not flake off, rub off or discolour. Chupi has very sensitive ears which means she has found the very best gold fill earwires and almost anyone who can wear solid gold can wear gold fill without a reaction. All of our gold chains, earwires and clasps.
Our rings and pendants are cast in solid sterling silver and then plated in a very thick layer of 18k gold. The thick layer of gold will last for several years when well cared for. Any of our pieces can be re-plated at a nominal cost either through Chupi or any jewellery store, keeping your piece sparkling and new.
