MARRIAGE EQUALITY IN IRELAND
MAY 22, 2015 by GARY AT CHUPI
Today the 22nd May 2015 an historic day in Ireland, we get to vote on marriage equality.
I have been incredibly privileged to design wedding rings for some amazing couples, from strangers to our best friends and even for myself and my husband. I’ve loved each and every pair, each and every couple, who they are, who they love, has never influenced my decision to make their rings because jewellery knows no gender. With the equality referendum today I hope soon the Irish constitution will know no difference either.
This is everything I need today: a polling card which allows me to vote, my passport to prove my identity, a camera to take a photo of a hopefully historic moment, my ancient Casio watch to keep me on time, yes necklace to wear under my top and journal & pen to take notes.
I’m going to cast my vote now, I hope you do too
