Meet the latest couple in The Chupi Wedding Series: Amy & Garry. Amy tells us about their beautiful intimate wedding day with their close family and friends in Dublin last year.

Myself and Garry met at a house party back in 2008, it was love at first sight, well, it was for me!

We moved in together in July 2019 and that was the day Garry proposed. It was the most romantic proposal and very magical. I am a book lover and when we were first together back in 2009 Garry bought me my favourite childhood book “The Secret Garden”.

When he proposed inside another copy of The Secret Garden 11 years later was my absolutely stunning Chupi Love is All Emerald ring. I was extremely overjoyed by so much love.

We had our wedding planned for May 2020. Myself and Garry always wanted a small intimate wedding with just our close family for the registry office and the meal afterwards.

We decided it is a day that is meant to be about two of us getting married and that’s all that matters.

We booked a big party afterwards for all our extend family and friends. Unfortunately due to the pandemic we had to postpone as our after party was effected by the restrictions.

Our new date was 16th of October. Again further restrictions were in place and it was even tighter numbers of people. Myself and Garry just bit the bullet, life doesn’t wait for no one was my attitude. We decided it is a day that is meant to be about two of us getting married and that’s all that matters.

We had our ceremony in Sir Patrick Duns registry office with a handful of our closet family members. Onto St Stephens green for our photographs, which we were extremely delighted how they turned out. Our reception and after party was in Bang restaurant and Wine Bar, which was absolutely divine.

I asked Garry at a later date what drew him to my Chupi Engagement Ring, he said he wanted to “get something that was as beautiful and unique as you, I also wanted to get something that was Irish and something that has meaning and you can pass it onto our children”. I absolutely adore my Chupi piece and when I look at it I get strong sense of love and all the memories.

My most memorable part of the day was taking a horse and carriage from my parents home into the city centre to get married and even afterwards on route to the park for photos.

Despite the pandemic, people were so happy and excited for us and there was such a sense of love. People beeping their horns of their cars, people cheering and lots of good wishes sent our way.
