Meet the latest couple in The Chupi Wedding Series: Emelie & Simon. Emelie tells us about her proposal with a Chupi Engagement Ring and their gorgeous wedding in Crete, Greece last week.

We are both from the North of Sweden, now living together in Dublin. We choose the same program in school and spent 2 years in the same class, and for six months, we were even a couple! Well, that didn’t go as planned as we broke up and didn’t see each other for another 10 years when our roads accidentally crossed again.

You see, Simon was working in Dublin and had done so for a few years, when I spontaniously booked a weekend to go sightseeing in Dublin.
I was browsing Facebook to see who lived in Dublin and found that Simon was there. We decided to meet up for a fun pub crawl, and for him to meet me at the airport to show me around. After that moment we met in Dublin airport, we have been inseparable. That’s now 2 and a half years ago!

After a year and a half together we had planned to go to China for a vacation. Two months before the trip I decided that I was going to propose at this really nice hotel in Shanghai. A few weeks before the trip, my dad got sick with cancer and the trip had to be cancelled and rearranged for us to fly back to Sweden to be with the family. I called my dad and mum to tell them that I was going to propose, all nervous and excited!

She started crying, said yes and after a moment she said: oh my god, is this a Chupi ring?!

A few days before the flight to Sweden, we had just come in from a walk where we enjoyed a cool but sunny day in November. I could not wait any longer! So I went back to my sock drawer, took out the ring that I knew Emelie had seen on the Chupi Instagram, and commented on that she loved. Emelie was sitting in the sofa, so I moved the coffee table to the side and went down on one knee in my sweatpants, the most simple and yet happiest moment!

Emelie started crying, said yes and after a moment she said: oh my god, is this a Chupi ring? ! Overwhelmed and happy. We got to show the ring to my dad, before he sadly passed away a few days before Christmas.

Simon choose the Solid gold Love is All Moissanite & classic diamond ring with the amazing twig band. The twig represented the feeling of our love for the woods and hiking.

We had talked about different jewellery and designers in Ireland and Chupi had always been something that Emelie kept coming back to. For Simon it was an easy choice when he went in to the Chupi store and picked it out. Because we are both outdoors people, Simon choose the Solid gold Love is All Moissanite & classic diamond ring with the amazing twig band. The twig represented the feeling of our love for the woods and hiking.

Emelie had always loved the brand, so it was an easy choice for me to go there and pick out a piece I knew she would love. It would also be a precious token to keep from Ireland, for when we move back to Sweden. We have so many great memories from Ireland. All the people we have met and all the happy memories we will always cherish.

I went to the store to check our the rings and get some advice from the Chupi staff. Then I went home and decided on the ring and bought it online.

I am so happy, excited and bubbly with love when I look at my ring . It’s the most beautiful thing! We got married a week ago in Crete, Greece. We had some family and friends fly down and we also had a live streaming for those who couldn’t attend.

As a final touch, Simon gave me these amazing twig earrings to complete my outfit. And now I get to call him my husband! How awesome is that? For himself, Simon got the Solid gold hawthorn bark ring , completing our set.
We got married in an old Amphie Theater in Nopigia under a warm sun. The happiest day in our lives!
