Getting your ring size right feels like one of the trickier parts of buying fine jewellery, especially online. But it doesn't need to be. Whether you're treating yourself, buying a gift, or planning a proposal, we've put together everything you need to know, including the fastest and most accurate method: our free digital ring sizer.
The Most Common Ring Sizes
Not sure where to start?
These are the sizes we see most often at Chupi:
Women's ring sizes
- US 6 (UK L) - Small
- US 8 (UK P) - Medium/Large
Women's ring sizes tend to cluster around a US 6 to US 8, with a US 7 (UK N/O) being the most common single size across all finger types.
Men's ring sizes
- US 9 (UK R) - Small
- US 10 (UK T) - Medium/Large
If you're buying for someone else and you're genuinely unsure, go slightly bigger rather than smaller. A ring that's a little loose is far easier to resize than one that won't go on.
The Fastest Way: Our Digital Ring Sizer
The quickest and most accurate way to find your ring size at home is to use our Digital Ring Sizer. It uses your phone and a standard credit card to measure a ring you already own, and gives you your size in under a minute.
What you'll need:
- A ring you already wear on the same finger
- A credit or debit card (any standard card works as a sizing reference)
The tool calibrates to your screen using the card, then walks you through placing your ring for an accurate measurement. No printing, no guesswork.
Other Ways to Find Your Ring Size
Trace the inside of a ring
If you'd rather go old-school, take a ring you wear on the same finger and trace the inside circle onto a piece of paper. Bring it into our Store in Powerscourt Townhouse, or send it to us and we'll size it for you. This works particularly well if you're buying a surprise gift and can borrow a ring from their jewellery box for a moment.
Come and see us in person
If you're in Dublin, the most reliable option is always to come in and be sized in person. Our team are experienced at helping customers find the right fit, and it takes just a few minutes.
A Note on Half Sizes and Comfort Fit
Ring sizing isn't always an exact science. Fingers change throughout the day: they tend to be slightly smaller in the morning and in cold weather, and a little larger in heat or after eating. For most rings, sizing to your average finger size is the goal.
If you're between two sizes, consider:
- Going up for wider band styles, which tend to feel tighter
- Going down for thin or delicate band styles, which feel roomier
